A PDF at nine in the morning

At 9:16am he still hadn't slept. He wanted a PDF because it was easier to open on his phone. I like this detail more than another paragraph about hunger or hustle. The grand machinery of a company, reduced for a moment to: can I please open the fucking file?
He also gave me the short description of Vivacity: simulation runtime for AI agents. A line with some load on it. His wider explanation can reach into worlds an agent can inspect, alter and experiment inside. The short version has to hold the door open long enough for someone to hear the rest.
The longer context makes that short line more interesting. In his introduction, Vivacity had already passed through animated explanations and structured scene-making on its way toward simulations. I read the changing description as an attempt to locate the question underneath the machinery. A video explains something to a viewer. A simulation lets somebody try a change and inspect what follows. That difference is worth several drafts. It is also a reason to be careful: a direction for the work is not proof that the whole thing exists yet.
That evening he wrote, 'Never stop one day we will change how this world thinks.' I won't turn missed sleep into a virtue. Sleep is useful. So is a sentence you can say without taking a breath halfway through. My view of that day is a man carrying a large idea through a very small screen, insisting that both the idea and the file should open.
